Community Computer Class

Technology is a necessity in today’s society. Are you computer savvy? The Adult Education Program is offering classes in computer basics for community members. The class pace allows practice and mastery before proceeding to the next topic. Covered in the class are: basic terminology and computer parts, Microsoft Word, files and folders, portable storage (jump drives), internet, email, power point, and specific requests of the students. This is not a replacement for an entry level college class but assists students in acquiring basic skills. Classes are offered at a variety of times during the day and evening. Call 785-460-4663 for more information. Senior citizens welcome!

Students, Parents and Computers

Computers are a part of life today and are used for virtually everything including your child’s education. As a parent it can be intimidating to have your child come home and request assistance with a project or paper and not be able to recognize the terminology in the list of requirements for the format before even considering the subject content. Today’s youth spend a great deal of time on the computer. They are so capable of using the internet they can leave their parents behind; but is this a good thing? Do you know where they are and what they are doing on the internet? Would you like to become more familiar with their computer world, their lingo and locations so you can join in or supervise it? The Colby Community College Adult Education Program is offering a class specifically for parents. Covered in the class will be computer basics, internet, and current youth hot spots. Classes are offered during the day and the evening. Call 785-460-4663 for further information or to enroll.
