Classes are offered to adults who have not completed a high school education. Obtaining a high school diploma can bring personal satisfaction to the individual as well as open doors to new possibilities including furthering education and job advancement.

Individuals should plan to study and prepare for the test. Practice tests must be taken and passed before the exam may be taken. The test is open to any person who is a Kansas resident, not currently enrolled in school, not a high school graduate and at least 16 years of age.

Over thirty five percent of high school graduates are unable to pass the GED test. Individuals obtaining the Kansas High School Diploma demonstrate the ability to achieve high standards.

The exam includes Language Arts Writing, Language Arts Reading, Math, Social Studies, and Science.

Instruction and materials are free of charge. There is a testing fee of $68 at the time of the exam. Testing is done by appointment in Colby, Goodland, Norton , Phillipsburg, and Hays.
